Premera to Host Live Webinar on Providence Negotiations in Alaska

As part of its negotiation process, Providence Alaska Medical Center (PAMC) and St. Elias Hospital issued a termination notice to Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska, effective May 31, 2025. Premera is working with PAMC and St. Elias to renegotiate our contracts, which impact all commercial plans and individual plans. These negotiations don’t impact Premera members with Medicare Supplement coverage.

The contracts currently under negotiation include Providence Alaska Medical Center and St. Elias and includes some hospital-based provider services.

Our intent with these negotiations is to ensure our members continue to have access to affordable, quality healthcare. As we’ve always said, these negotiations are not about Premera; they’re about our customers. We serve as their advocate during these discussions.
