Help Clients Go Paperless with EOBs
Every time a provider sends a claim to Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska, your clients receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOBs). If they’re receiving these as paper statements in the mail, Premera is reaching out to encourage the switch to paperless.
Why we’re encouraging paperless
By switching to paperless, they’ll:
- Get important information faster—no waiting for mailed statements.
- Have secure and convenient digital access.
- Receive email notifications when EOBs are available.
- Reduce clutter, shredding, and the environmental impact of paper.
Premera outreach
Since June, Premera has been reaching out to members encouraging them to opt into paperless EOBs. They may have been contacted through our personalized and secure text-based messaging system.
Premera will continue to communicate about paperless EOBs through text alerts and social media. We’ll also be adding more information to our website soon.
Opting in to paperless
There are 2 ways your clients can make the switch to paperless:
Sign in to their Premera account (or create an online account if they haven’t already) and follow the simple steps found on the account page or go to Welcome > Settings > Preferences. Under Preferences, select to have EOBs emailed when ready.
Call customer service 800-809-9361 and speak to a Premera representative directly about opting into paperless. Contact hours: Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. PST.
