Enhancing Personal Health Support for Fully Insured and OptiFlex Funded Plans
Beginning January 1, 2025, Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska is enhancing our Personal Health Support program by embedding new case management capabilities within our fully insured and OptiFlex plans. There’s no additional cost for these changes.
We aim to provide early member intervention and combat rising costs by leveraging predictive technology and providing access to a robust digital case management mobile app.

With the addition of these new capabilities, our Personal Health Support program will bring data insights into future high-cost claimants and detailed action plans for early member intervention, long before high-cost claims appear – plus a digital case management app to help the member navigate their care.

All members on fully insured and OptiFlex funded plans will have access to secure chat with their Premera personal health support clinician, and a digital member resource center full of clinically reviewed health and wellness articles and extensive condition and self-management programs. Plus, more opportunities for navigation support by Premera to help guide them to the right care programs, physicians, and high-value services.
