Changes Coming to Premera Virtual Care Bundle
At Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska, we continuously review our product portfolio to ensure our members have access to affordable and easy to use health care solutions. This means we occasionally update or replace products to maintain best-in-class offerings.
Enhancing quality virtual care nationally
We’re updating our national virtual care bundle. These changes are effective January 1, 2026, regardless of a group’s renewal date. There are no premium or fee increases associated with these changes.
Primary and urgent virtual care bundle:
- 98point6 (powered by Transcarent Health) will replace Doctor on Demand. 98point6 will be the only primary and urgent virtual care provider within the bundle. 98point6 offers on-demand, text-first, or video for individuals aged one and older.
Mental health:
- Spring Health (through Transcarent) will replace Doctor on Demand Behavioral Health services. Spring Health provides video and telephonic therapy for individuals aged six and older. Psychiatry and medication management is available for members aged 18 and older.
- Talkspace will continue to be part of the virtual care bundle, offering text, audio, and video therapy for individuals aged 13 and older, along with psychiatry and medication management for those aged 18 and older.
We’ll conduct outreach and provide resources to assist active Doctor on Demand patients in transitioning to new provider options.
Seamless way to find in-network care
Soon, virtual care options will be integrated into the Premera secure Find Care. Find Care is accessible in the secure member portal on premera.com and Premera mobile app. When members sign in, they’ll see only the virtual solutions available under their plan, ensuring easy access to all care options in one convenient place.
As part of these improvements, the MyCare app will be discontinued on July 1, 2025. Advanced notice messaging will be provided in the MyCare app in June.
