Digital Health Messages Program Expands to Self-funded Groups
Digital Health Messages are personalized text messages to Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska members. Today, Digital Health Messages are included for fully insured and OptiFlex groups. These messages are designed to prompt members to take actions that support better health outcomes. From reminding members of preventive care visits to guiding them to high value, low-cost alternatives, these messages have proven to be an effective way to engage members by reaching them in their daily lives and motivating them to act.
In 2026, Digital Health Messages will be embedded for all self-funded groups by default at renewal. Groups wanting to opt-out will need to do so through customization. Pricing is a flat fee per month and tiered based on group size. This ensures affordability by aligning costs with the scale, resources, and needs of self-funded groups.
