2027 Alaska individual and family plans: Premera filing overview

September 10, 2026

Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska has filed its 2027 individual and family plans and rates with the Alaska Division of Insurance (DOI). You can expect a year with limited changes, making it easier for you and your clients to navigate coverage options and plan for the year ahead.

Here’s an early look at what’s planned for 2027. Please note that plan and rate information isn’t final until approved by DOI.

Rates

Premera has filed for a 24.9% average rate increase for 2027.

Plans

All Preferred, Alaska One, and Standard medical plans will continue to be available in 2027.

There is one update to dental offerings: the standalone pediatric dental plan will no longer be offered. Pediatric dental benefits remain included in all medical plans, while adult dental benefits are not included with medical coverage. A standalone family dental plan will continue to be available.

Network

Clients will continue to have access to healthcare providers through the Legacy and Dental Select networks for medical and dental care. Premera’s network remains one of the largest in Alaska and includes a broad range of behavioral health, specialty, and alternative care providers.

Commission

Producer commissions will remain unchanged at $20 per member per month.
